I have heard it said that the best way to improve your craft is by learning from the masters. Since colored pencil is a relatively new medium, it was my intent to see if other types of media can be rendered in colored pencil. So far, I have been able to render to my satisfaction some well-know works of art by DaVinci, Ketel, and Vermeer that were done in oil paints. My goal is to represent not only the master's subject, but also his medium. I plan to work in the future on a Rembrandt and a Holbein. You can see some of my completed works below.
